Gandhinagar Queer Pride Foundation (GQPF) is a youth-led LGBTQIA+ organization situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, founded on November 25th, 2019 as Gandhinagar Queer Pride Collective and Incorporated on May 12, 2022 as Gandhinagar Queer Pride Foundation. The primary impetus for the establishment of GQPF was the persistent observation of a sense of loneliness and the perception that an individual feels different and is alienated from the general population as a result of their identity in various regions of Gujarat and India. Thus, GQPF began with the promise that no one else would have to feel this way, and we’ve come a long way since then. We seek to establish a secure and inclusive atmosphere for the queer community, where everyone can be themselves without having to present a façade to the public. We intend to reach out to everyone on a worldwide scale, beginning at the local and state level. Along with community development, GQPF is committed to arranging and facilitating gender sensitization seminars in several educational institutions and corporate organizations around the Indian subcontinent. One important area of attention for GQPF is also proactive assistance in the rescue and rehabilitation of community members who are not welcomed by their families and known associates anymore. What began as a social group has eventually evolved into a multifaceted organization, organizing pride events, conducting gender sensitization training, and rescuing people.
